The HEATIT HIRD roof de-icing cable is designed to prevent ice dams from forming on roofs, gutters, and downspouts. When properly installed, it creates a path for melted snow and ice to drain from the roof to the ground, protecting your roof from damage and leaks.

Features:
* CSA and ETL Certified: Ensures superior quality and safety, meeting stringent industry benchmarks.
* Easy Installation: Pre-assembled with a 6 ft 18/3 cold lead and plug. Includes clips and spacers for do-it-yourselfers.
* Durable Construction: Features tough XLPE inner insulation and weather-resistant PVC outer jacket for high and low temperatures. Utilizes industrial grade heat shrinkage tube technology for enhanced durability.
* Enhanced Safety: 100% screen rate with aluminum foil and tinned copper braid for a more stable and healthy product.
* Dimensions: 120 feet in length, 5 watts per foot.

This kit is designed for use on:
* Metal or plastic gutters and downspouts
* Inclined roofs
* Roofs with noncombustible shingles (e.g., asphalt shingles) that meet national building codes

Do not use this kit on:
* Roofs with wooden shingles, rubber or rubber membrane roofs, composite (tar and gravel) roofs
* Wooden gutters or downspouts, flat roofs
* Slate, stone, metal, and ceramic roofs (these types require special installation or self-regulating cable)

Installation Tip: Before installation, uncoil the heat cable completely so it does not touch, cross over, or overlap itself. Plug in the cable briefly (approximately 5 minutes) to ensure it feels slightly warm to the touch, then unplug.
